First Post Redone: What is Dancing & What Does it Mean to Me?

Dance. To move rhythmically to music, typically following a sequence of steps. I have been dancing ever since I was 3. Different arrays of styles helping shape me into the person I am today. Dancing has a special place in my heart. It has been there for the good times and the bad. Comforting me through the horrid years. I was bullied when I was little and dance was the only true thing I could do that made me feel happy. All those words, "fat, ugly, stupid, weird," were drifted into the air and away from my mind. When I dance I feel graceful, pretty, and important like I actually matter. Dance is  how I tell my stories. Some write, some sing, and some draw, but the only way I can truly get a point, a story told is by dancing. This is why I shall be blogging about different dance styles around the world, my favorite ones of course, and where their origins are. 
               So where did dancing start? "The earliest history of human dance is a continuing mystery. From the evidence of illustrated ceramic fragments, some archaeologists have come to the conclusion that dance originated some 5,000 to 9,000 years ago in early agricultural cultures located in a swath running from modern Pakistan to the Danube basin." This source did not give much background info son I continued my research looking to find where dance started I also found an article that says how dancing started in Egypt as dancing started to worship the gods in the temples. Like my first source this one was also a dud not giving any supporting details. All it gave was claims. Then I found a site that told me the first archeological proof of dance came from a 9 thousand year old cave painting in India. Right under it the website also talked about how,"One of the earliest uses of structured dance was introduced in religious ceremonies that told the stories of ancient myths and gods. Egyptian priests used this kind of visual storytelling in their rituals." So, from three different sites I am getting multiple answers to where dance started. I have concluded that the exact place to wear dance started shall remain a mystery. All i can find is the impact it has made on society throughout the past years. From religious ceremonies to celebrations dance has effected the worlds growth and development.
